Typical Day for a Volunteer

0500 – 0600 – Sunrise Yoga with the children

0630 – 0700 – Breakfast including daily assignments discussion

0715 – 0730 – Children are driven to school Monday through Friday

0800 – 1100

  • Mon-Sat: Children’s Thai lesson

Mon-Fri: Volunteers teach English lesson to the kids who are not in school due to being too young or not having citizenship papers. (Note: It is best to break them up by English skill level)

  • Art activities with children
  • Playing with the children
  • There are always ongoing project such as building, painting, or community projects.

1100 – 1200 – Afternoon yoga session

1230 – 1330 – Lunch time

1330 – 1530 – Same as morning and children often have afternoon nap. Sometimes someone takes the truck to Sangklaburi (the local town) for supplies and have a break to do washing, reading, relaxing etc at the volunteer house.

1600 – 1630 – Children return from school

1700 – 1800 – Sunset Yoga with the children

1800 - 1900Dinner time

1830 – 2000 - Help with homework, teach (music, English, arts etc) and play.

2000 - 2100 – Philosophy and Yoga Nidra

2100 Bedtime – volunteers return to volunteer house and children go to their rooms
